I provide advice to clients in the area of labour relations and employment law.
I joined Spectrum following my articles at a large national firm where much of my time was focused on labour and employment matters. While at the firm I gained experience interpreting collective agreements, assessing reasonable notice periods, and providing opinions to clients regarding grievances, and Human Rights issues. I also gained experience negotiating settlement terms in light of wrongful dismissal actions and analyzing employment contracts. I have strong diplomacy skills and have learned the importance of communication and trust with clients in order to sustain long-term relationships and provide effective advice.
I have been actively involved in the Calgary community sitting as a volunteer Director with a local non-profit Board of Directors for five years. I have also volunteered with Student Legal Assistance at the University of Calgary in their Banff and Calgary clinics, and volunteer regularly with the Sheldon Chumir Foundation for Ethics in Leadership.
